Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers, and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV.
ECI has an immediate opening for a Senior Human Resources Generalist. The Senior Human Resources Generalist serves as a strategic partner to leadership, the Human Resources team, and employees with the purpose of optimizing the productivity and effectiveness of the organization. The role focuses on employee relations, retention, leave management, record maintenance, employment law & compliance, contributing to a positive and productive workplace culture, and talent acquisition. The successful candidate is required to work on site in our Billings, MT Corporate office, and will also provide HR support to locations nationwide.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and day-to-day support to managers and employees on employee relations, workplace issues, conflict resolutions, disciplinary actions, and recommend resolutions.
- Knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, risk evaluation, and regulatory compliance related to FMLA, leaves of absences, return to work, ADA, etc.
- Ensure legal compliance of state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws.
- Interpret and enforce HR policies and procedures consistently across the company; contribute to policy development and refinement.
- Manage the full cycle recruiting efforts for the assigned positions, including job postings, pre-screening resumes, booking interviews, conducting interviews, completing reference checks, etc., as required.
- Complete onboarding & offboarding procedures, ensuring all steps are completed within the assigned timeframe (e.g., collecting new hire paperwork, I-9 documentation, policy signoffs, resignation letters, etc.).
- Handles confidential information in a professional manner, respecting employee privacy while maintaining company confidentiality. Interacts with various levels of management, employees, and employee dependents.
- Maintains, and is responsible for, data integrity by either entering any required employee change information (new hires, job changes, terminations, promotions, transfers, etc.). Updates changes to employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll, benefit carriers, and other internal/external areas.
- Participate in development of Human Resources objectives and systems, including metrics and standard reports.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business or a related field with a minimum of 5+ years of proven work experience in human resources with increasing responsibilities as a well-rounded generalist; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; ability to work in a team environment; commitment to quality and accuracy; and a willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules. Experience in an engineering company and multi-state experience a plus. The successful applicant may be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving is required; therefore, the successful applicant will be subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements.
