Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join the team in our Salt Lake City (physically located in Woods Cross, UT) office as a drafter. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and design support to design teams involved with the conceptual, preliminary, and final design of substation and transmission line projects, 34.5 kV through 500 kV.

The successful candidates will work with designers and engineers within the substation engineering group to update and develop drawing sets, diagrams, and other CADD deliverables related to substation design. Specifically this includes utilizing both AutoCAD and Microstation software to develop substation one-line drawings, site plans, foundation drawings, structure detail drawings, grading drawings, conduit plans, bus details, equipment specification details, electrical wiring and schematic diagrams, etc. All CADD work will be based on the instructions and markups provided by ECI engineers and designers. The ability to learn, understand, and utilize a variety of client CADD standards is a must. No individual design work is required. No supervisory or management duties are required.

Minimum Requirements: College degree in an acceptable curriculum, two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design, or a minimum of two years concentrated on the job experience in computer-sided drafting/design field. Proficient in AutoCAD and possess a strong computer aptitude in a Windows environment; MicroStation experience a plus. Proven effective verbal and written communication skills; proven excellent level of interpersonal skills; ability to work individually and on a team. Must be detail oriented and possess a high level of organizational skills. Proven ability to work with confidential information. Proven ability to exercise independent judgment. Successful applicants may be subject to client mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving will be required.
